When did you start your career?

Been mixing about 3 years, I started to learn to mix 3 days before my first set so about that’s when it originally started I suppose. Only been producing Drum and Bass for about 18 months, and only had the alias, Posk, for about 10 months, so it’s all quite fresh at the minute, still feels like the career only really got started the last few months thanks to my first official releases.

What drew you to dnb compared to other genres of underground music?

The pace and versatility of it. It’s such a diverse genre, it took me a while to appreciate it to be fair, I used to love slower stuff but when a pal showed me some serum tunes I fell in love.

How has the culture changed from when you first started?

I’d say that the culture is really accessible now, it’s good and bad, there is a lot more people who love and listen to the music, but also there is a lack of understanding from the newer heads which can cause drama, especially when it comes to dub leaking.

What sort of environment did you grow up in? Were you into music early on?

Yeah big time, I played guitar and violin from the age of about 8. My parents both had a diverse music taste and supported me sticking with an instrument. I really loved electronic music from the age of 13 ish as well, that came from listening to future house music and overly heavy dubstep youtube videos in the back of science class with my best pal.

What’s your favourite memory/ career highlight?

Getting the call from Ray Keith to talk about signing my music, it was crazy to speak to such a legend in the game and have them respect a project I’d worked so hard on. Close second was playing an afters in derby in my mates uni block, quality vibes through out.

What’s your opinion on illegal raves during the pandemic? Do you think it’s justified given that there’s no clear indication of when clubs etc will reopen?

I don’t know that’s a touchy one. I understand why they aren’t a good idea but I’d definitely go to one if it was put in front of me at this point, but realistically it just does push back the likelihood of raves coming back any time soon. People are always gunna want to rave though so it’s always gunna be a fight with these restrictions.

What’s your favourite/ funniest rave memory?

My favourite is probably taking over from the kings of the rollers playing at the main venue in my home town, funniest is probably NYE this year, had back stage access as I was playing room 2, managed to get on stage for Bou’s set and was behind him giving it the middle fingers all night, accidentally ruined all his photos.

If you could collab with any DJ/ artist (past or present) who would it be and why?

I’d love to get in the studio with Skeptical, no one does it like him. His drums are next level and his style is unique. A close second would be Halogenix.

What would you like to achieve in the next few months?

I just want to keep doing what I’m doing tbf! Winter and lockdown are rough so I’m not putting pressure on myself to smash it out the park. I done a lot of work this year and I’ve got an array of releases lined up,  I think i’m gunna take the next few months nice and easy and see what happens.
